3 Distilleries in BC You Probably Haven’t Tried Yet

With the growing number of microbreweries and distillers in BC and the burgeoning craft beer trend, you probably still have a lot of distilleries on your must-visit list. May we suggest a few more Distilleries in BC worth visiting because of their top-notch liquors? Here are some of the distilleries you would want to try:

1. Island Spirits Distillery
Found in Hornby Island in BC, this distillery taps into science to create the perfect drink. They make use of natural ingredients to create the perfect harmony of flavors. You can find ingredients like fennel seeds, coriander seed, huckleberry ginger, angelica root, elderflower and cinnamon in their list of ingredients.
2. Deep Cover Brewers and Distilleries
This North Vancouver distillery will take you to the Mediterranean using their award-wedding Mediterranean gin that has that perfect harmony of olives and rosemary. But aside from that, they are also known for their food and liquor pairings as well as their craft beers.
3. Legend Distilling
This distillery is found in Naramata, BC and they specialize in making liqueur, vodka and gin. What truly makes this distillery so special is their take in farm to glass liquors. You shouldn’t miss out on their Doctor’s Order gin that is a curious blend of citrus and juniper berries but mixed with an assortment of flavors known in the Okanagan Valley such as apples, elderberry, lavender and mint.
These are just some of the distilleries worth visiting. You can also check out The Alchemist to find out more about the best distilleries to visit in BC.

How to Incorporate Peach in Your Cocktail Drink

There are so many ways for you to add peach to your cocktail drink. You can get inspiration from The Alchemist or try out the following tips in using this fail-proof ingredient:
1. Muddle it
Muddling the peach will help you get as much flavor from it as possible. Try it with the traditional Mint Julep but rather than let the mint become the star of the show, use white peach instead. Add a bit of peach liqueur and you are good to go.
2. Try peach-flavored Vodka
You might think flavored or fruit-infused Vodkas are something to stay away from but there are actually a few brands of Vodka who does flavored Vodka well. Try the Peach Vodka from Ciroc Vodka. It works well with peach cobbler drinks. It is like having dessert but in cocktail form.
3. Infuse it
You do the infusion yourself. Infuse slices of peach in Vodka and use it to make Frisco 49. You can take up the peach flavors even further by adding honey peach syrup and capping it off with some dry sparkling wine.
4. Try peach schnapps
This is a kind of liqueur that is a combination of fruit syrup spirit, spices and many other flavors. You can make an assortment of cocktail drinks with it including White Peach Sangria, Irish Gold and Jolly Rancher.
You can always use the fruit fresh as well. Chop it, slice it, blend it – feel free to experiment and look for various ways to incorporate it in your drinks.
