3 Classic Cocktail Drinks You Will Probably Hate Ordering at a Bar

There are some drinks that are better off just removed from bar menus. But many bars don’t remove them just because many people still request for them. It’s not that they lack creativity, it’s just that these cocktails have an inherent ability to be bad. The basics of making them is just a recipe for a disaster.
Whatever you do, don’t order these drinks at a bar:

1. Moscow mule

Sure, it is a popular drink but there is a reason why many bartenders hate making this cocktail in Vancouver. That is because the Vodka is not the best accompaniment to ginger beer. Nothing about their flavor profiles match. A good cocktail in Vancouver is one with intricate individual flavors that blend in harmoniously with each other.

2. Mojito

Bars have put their own spin to the classic mojito that it has lost its original luster. It is dated and bartenders hate making it just because it is laborious. Additionally, many bars actually don’t bother using high quality ingredients when making this drink, so it is probably not worth your money.

3. Cosmopolitan

It’s a drink better left in the late 90s. And it isn’t just the vibe of the drink that offends many bartender, it is also the actual flavors of the drink. It’s really like a cranberry martini mixed with vodka that doesn’t actually taste great.

Go out of your cocktail comfort zone. Visit the best local bars in Vancouver and sample their signature cocktail in Vancouver. There are plenty of award-winning bars in Vancouver that will expand your cocktail horizon. You can also check out The Alchemist for more suggestions.

Nothing Says Summer Quite Like These Cocktail Drinks

It’s summer time once again, what’s your go-to summer cocktail drink? If you are looking for the best cocktails in Vancouver to make in the summer, we suggest doing the following:

1. Watermelon Vodka

No other fruit represents summer quite like watermelon. It is the perfect summer treat, whether you are having it by itself, turning into a slushie or mixing it with cocktails in Vancouver BC. When turning it as an alcoholic drink, try mixing it with vodka. Blend together 4 cups of freshly-sliced watermelon, add one and a half tablespoons of honey, a tablespoon of lime juice and ¾ cup of water. Once blended, pour it over a glass with a strainer on top to remove sediments, seeds and pulp. Mix ¼ cup vodka and crushed ice. Garnish with a small triangular slice of watermelon and a mint leaf and you are good to go.

2. Malibu Sunset

This cocktail drink will make you think you are somewhere tropical even when you are stuck at home in the summer. Place 4 ice cubes in a glass and pour half a cup of fresh pineapple juice. Mix 1/4 cup of Malibu rum. Choose the one that contains coconut liqueur. Slowly pour two tablespoons of grenadine on the side of the glass, so you can achieve a pretty color separation reminiscent of sunsets.
Also try a cocktail drink that makes use of citrus fruits. Limoncello Prosecco and peach-based cocktail drinks are a great option. If you are looking for more recipes, try checking out The Alchemist.
