4 Techniques to Elevate Your Cocktail Drinks

We all want to improve our cocktail game, especially when the season calls for more cocktail-making. But you don’t need some fancy new recipe to impress. You can elevate the oldies but goodies with the help of the following techniques:

1. Don’t be stingy on the quality of your alcohol.

It’s the star of the show here, so it’s only right that it is also the best. Be sure to find good quality cocktail drinks and get recommendations on what to buy from The Alchemist. There are still a lot of cocktail drinks that are good but not expensive.

2. Experiment with ice.

Infuse it with your other ingredients, add flowers, use a different shape of ice. Go beyond the usual crushed ice and you just might be able to explore more flavors.

3. Know which ingredients to muddle and which ones not to.

Many people make the mistake of muddling ingredients like mint. This results to bruising the leaves, which can release bitter flavors. When it comes to mint, clapping it between your hands is the best thing to do as it will release its natural mint scent and flavors.

4. When using citrus, add them last before serving.

Citrus juice tends to oxidize. You need to retain their freshness. Put the citrus in the microwave as well to release the juice. You will get more juice when the citrus is warmed up.
