Boba and Liquor – Do They Work?

It seems like every day, we see a boba shop opening. We’re probably not going to see the end of the boba craze any time. They are everywhere, not just in drinks. You can even find them on desserts and pizza!
But one thing you have to try is boba in your cocktail drink. This isn’t something you can find in cocktail bars in Vancouver, but one you can try experimenting at home. Here are some of the things you can do:
  1. Infuse Vodka in boba
Vodka is great for infusions. But rather than your usual fruits, swap them out with boba instead. Cook black tapioca pearls and place them in a bowl. Pour just enough of your favorite brand of Vodka to cover the tapioca pearls. Leave it there to infuse for about 15 minutes. Now put this on your cocktails for an interesting mix of flavors and texture.
  1. Make a vanilla chai bubble tea incorporated with booze
Make vanilla bean syrup by mixing a cup of sugar with equal portions of water. Slice the vanilla bean and scrape out the insides. Put it on the pan. Bring the pan to a boil over medium-high temperature. Let it simmer for 15 minutes until you reach a syrupy consistency.
In another pan, cook your tapioca pearls. Once cooked, add it to the vanilla bean syrup. Make your chai tea. Put boba pearls with the vanilla bean syrup in a glass. Pour the chai tea over it. Add Baileys Irish Cream. Top it with whipped cream and you are great to go!
