4 Tips to Improve Your Tasting Bar Experience

Are you going to visit a tasting bar and having your very first tasting experience? Here are the tips you would want to keep in mind to make sure you get the most out of your first tasting bar experience:

1. Start with the most mellow.

Most tasting bars will offer you their least alcoholic and least flavored drinks. This is to make sure the palate does not get bombarded with flavors right away that can dull out your perception of the flavors in the next drinks.

2. Drink water in between.

Water is a palate cleanser, so be sure to sip water before tasting another drink to clear your taste buds and make it easier to perceive the flavors and the mouthfeel of the next drink.

3. Immerse yourself in the experience.

Try to avoid distractions. You can put your phone on silent mode to avoid interrupting the tasting session. This is also in consideration with the other people who attended who might also want to maximize the experience.

4. Appreciate all the elements to the drink.

Give it a whiff first. Find out what it smells like. Check out the differences in color and bubbles. Jot them down in your journal for future reference.

You also need to select the tasting rooms you should go to. Visit The Alchemist to find out which bars, wineries and distilleries you can go to for the best tasting room experience. The Alchemist has all the latest information on the drinks scene in Vancouver.
